As I love all things Mexico, in 2017 one of the three new destinations I experienced was Los Cabos. Cabo was the only destination that I visited twice last year, as it was just that special and I was anxious to return.
The main two towns in Cabo are San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. Cabo was definitely the party spot of the two with clubs, shops and restaurants to keep you busy. I really liked staying on the Marina as it was very easy to walk around and soak in the city. San Jose is more relaxed and has the luxe artsy vibe to it. Every hotel I experienced had its own unique character, and there is a unique property that fits every unique traveler. I stayed at 4 properties between my two visits, and toured an additional 3 properties. I advise my client to stay at least 6 nights that way they can experience both towns. You can also rent a car to cover more ground, and a return trip is always a viable option.
I encourage you to visit Los Cabos for the scenery. Los Cabos isn’t just a beach destination, the beach is almost an afterthought to the mountains, and cactus lined red clay deserts. Many of the beaches aren’t swimmable, so you find unique and elaborate pools at many of the resorts. Delicious, diverse dining is another reason to visit Los Cabos. Take your pick of taco stands, tapas restaurants, or fine dining with unforgettable views ( I recommend a visit to Sunset Monalisa for the pizza and incredible views of the Arch). Excursions include nightclubs, bar crawls, culinary classes, golfing, sports fishing, snorkeling and much more.
If you haven't been to Los Cabos yet, what are you waiting on?
