Have You Heard Of CuracaoFamously known for the orange flavor blue liqueur that’s a staple in many delicious cocktails, Curacao may just be your new favorite Caribbean island. Curacao, along with its neighbors Aruba and Bonaire, make up the ABC dutch islands. These islands sit outside of the hurricane belt so anytime is a good time to visit. This destination is perfect for island hopping, as both Aruba and Bonaire are a 20 minute flight from Curacao. Where to StayYou definitely want to add Curacao to your must visit list, as all your favorite all inclusive brands are vying to make their name in this destination. Things To DoIf you’ve ever seen a picture of Curacao, you've viewed the brightly colored buildings that line the riverfront. This area is called Willemstad and is best experienced by foot. Thes colorful buildings serve as homes and retail space within this town. Stroll along the river, pop into a boutique for shopping, or visit a cafe for a bite to eat. This UNESCO world heritage site gives a bright European vibe to this Caribbean respite. Snorkeling & Diving is a big deal amongst the ABC islands, and you can definitely get your fix in Curacao. You must experience a sunset catamaran, as they are quite magical. Curacao has over 35 unique and distinctive beaches, so you can swim, dive, cliff jump or lounge until you beach thirst is quenched. A vacation didn’t happen if you don't have the photos to prove it. Set up your tripod, or if you’re fancy hire a photographer and let your first stop be the Queen Emma Pontoon Bridge. A Pontoon bridge is a fancy word for a floating bridge. The Queen Emma bridge guards the entrance to the port of Willemstad and swings open to allow ships to pass through.
